Speaking about shooting with Modi, he said, “It is such a privilege to be taking Prime Minister Modi on an adventure into the Indian wilderness and I feel truly honoured to get to spend time with this remarkable world leader. The wild reminds us that we need each other and that together we are stronger. I am so excited to spend time with the PM and to get to know the man who leads this great nation.”

Thanking Bear Grylls for releasing the teaser, Modi tweeted, “India- where you find lush green forests, diverse wildlife, beautiful mountains and mighty rivers. Watching this programme will make you want to visit different parts of India and add to discourse of environmental conservation. Thanks
@BearGrylls for coming here! @DiscoveryIN”

Talking about his love for nature, Narendra Modi said, “For years, I have lived among nature, in the mountains and the forests. These years have a lasting impact on my life. So, when I was asked about a special programme focussing on life beyond politics and that too in the midst of nature, I was both intrigued and inclined to take part in it. For me, this show presents a great opportunity to showcase to the world India’s rich environmental heritage and stress on the importance of environment conservation and living in harmony with nature. It was a great experience spending time in the jungle once again, this time with Bear, who is blessed with indefatigable energy and quest to experience nature at its purest.”

For the records, Bear Grylls has earlier featured Former President of United States (U.S.) – Barack Obama, Tennis icon – Roger Federer and America’s singer – Nick Jonas on his shows.

At the same time, the Opposition has hit out at Modi for shooting the ‘Man vs Wild’ episode on the day when more than 40 Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) personnel were martyred in a heinous terror attack in the Pulwama region by the Pakistan based terror group – Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).

Expressing anger, the Spokesperson of Indian National Congress (INC) – Shama Mohamed said, “When 44 CRPF jawans were martyred in #Pulwama, PM #Modi was having the time of his life shooting for this programme. He was enjoying it so much, that he continued shooting even after being told of the heinous attack! See him laughing carelessly in the trailer!”

Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir – Mehbooba Mufti mocked the PM and tweeted, “At the risk of sounding repetitive, the PM surely is a pioneer in innovative PR skills that seem to strike a chord with every generation.”

However, after the Pulwama attack, the Prime Minister Office (PMO) had clarified that Modi was already in Corbett Park when the attack occurred. He did not go to Corbett during or after the attack.
