Patanjali launches ‘Coronil’ kit for treating COVID-19 patients

Indian Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev has launched ‘Coronil’, an evidence-based ayurvedic medicine for treating Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients

Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev led – Patanjali Ayurvedic Limited today, i.e., Tuesday, June 23, 2020 launched ‘Coronil’, an evidence-based ayurvedic medicine for treating Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients.

The medicine was launched by Baba Ramdev in a Press Conference at Patanjali’s headquarters in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Also present on the occasion was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Patanjali – Acharya Balkrishna.

Priced at Rs. 545/-, the kit is for 30 days. As per Balakrishna, the medicine has been made using minerals with herbs. The medicine has been developed by a joint team of Patanjali Research Institute (PRI) and the National Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Jaipur. The product has been manufactured by Divya Pharmacy of the Patanajli. During the trials, company claimed 100% results.

Launching the medicine, Baba Ramdev said, “The whole world has been waiting for someone to develop a medicine for coronavirus. Today, we are proud that we developed the first ayurvedic medicine for coronavirus. It has been named Coronil.”

He further added, “We conducted clinical study on 100 patients. Around 65 per cent of them returned negative test results within three days.”

Talking about the trials, he said, “Hundred per cent patients got cured in seven days. We have prepared this medicine with adequate research. Our medicine has 100 per cent recovery rate and zero per cent death rate.”

The company will also launch an e-commerce app for the delivery of the medicines. The medicine will be delivered within 2 hours from the placement of order. The medicine will also be available across Patanjali stores in a week. As of now, the medicine is not available anywhere.

The company started the research work on the medicine in December 2019. Going ahead, the company will now conduct trials on patients who are on ventilator.

In other developments, the Prime Minister’s Office has allocated funds under the PMO Cares for 50,000 ventilators. As of now, 2,923 ventilators have been manufactured. Of this, 1,340 ventilators have already been delivered to States and Union territories (U.T.s).

Meanwhile, India recorded 14,933 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 312 casualties. Maharashtra remains the worst hit State with 3,721 cases and 113 casualties in the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 1,35,796 and casualties to 6,283.

Delhi, the second most affected place registered 2,909 fresh cases and 58 casualties. The total number of cases in the national capital have surged to 62,655 and there have been 2,233 casualties. Tamil Nadu, the third worst hit State witnessed 2,710 fresh cases and 37 casualties. The total number of cases in the State have surged to 62,087 and there have been 794 casualties.

As per the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), there are 4,40,215 cases in India and there have been 14,011 casualties.
