Jio Fiber to offer free voice calls from landline, high speed broadband, a free HD TV and dish at Rs. 700/- per month
The Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) – Mukesh Ambani has unveiled Reliance Jio Fiber, the Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) service during the 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of RIL today, i.e., Monday, August 12, 2019.
The newly launched service will offer free voice calls from landline phones for lifetime, high speed broadband, a free High Definition (HD) TV and dish within its starting package of Rs. 700/- per month. The Jio Fiber would be launched on September 5, 2019. It is available at 1/10th of the global rates for the same services.
Speaking on the occasion, Mukesh Ambani said, “Today, I want to announce that starting September 5 of this year – on the third anniversary of Jio’s launch – we are launching Jio Fiber services on a commercial basis.”
He further added, “We are pricing our plans at less than one-tenth the global rates, to make it accessible for all. Jio Fiber plans will be priced between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000 per month.”
The basic plan is priced at Rs. 700/- per month with internet speed of 100 MBPS. The top-end plan comes at Rs. 10,000/- per month with internet speed of 1,000 MBPS. The top-end plan provides access to broadband, Jio Home TV and Jio’s Internet of Things (IoT). The plans also lure users by providing unlimited international calling pack to United States (U.S.) and Canada, from Jio landline at Rs .500 per month. The Jio Forever Plan was also introduced by Ambani which offers HD or 4k LED television and 4k set-top box for free. The complete details of all the plans would be available on September 5, 2019.

Besides, Jio Fiber will also launch Jio First Day First Show by mid 2020. It will allow users to watch Movies on the same day they get released in theatres. “Also, for the first time in India, we are introducing a disruptive concept for watching new movies. Premium Jio Fiber customers will be able to watch movies in their living rooms the same day these movies are released in theatres,” Ambani announced.
Ambani also informed that the Jio Fiber’s pre-service received interest from 15 million people in 1,600 towns. The target audience will also include enterprise customers from businesses, both SMEs and
big businesses.
