Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who arrived today at his first official visit to India, seems to be getting lukewarm response by the Indian government. His counterpart in India Narendra Modi, who generally breaks protocol and go to the airport to welcome important dignitaries, did not give such reception to him.
Infact, Trudeau who is accompanied by his wife Sophie and their three children was received by Minister of State (MoS) Agriculture Gajendra Singh, not even External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj or junior ministers in her ministry General VK Singh or MJ Akbar.
Prime Minister Modi, last month went to the airport to welcome his good friend Benjamin Netanyahu. Earlier, he did the same thing when Barack Obama came to India in 2015.
Moreover, Indian establishment did not even tweet any welcome message for the rock star Prime Minister.

Even today when Trudeau visited the Taj Mahal, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was missing from the event, while Adityanath gave the warm reception for Netanyahu last month.
According to experts in overseas affairs, Trudeau is getting snubbed by the Indian authorities mainly due to his support to pro-Khalistan voices in Canada.
During his week-long visit, Trudeau will meet and interact with business leaders, representatives of the film industry and students.
