Paramount has announced further delay Top Gun: Maverick from Dec. 23, 2020, to July 1, 2021.
Earlier the movie release was moved from 2 July 2010 to the December date. The Tom Cruise starrer has been produced at a cost of whopping $152 million. The movie stars Tom Cruise reprising his role as Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a test pilot and flight instructor. Miles Teller has been casted as Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw, a pilot trainee, and the son of Maverick’s late RIO, Nick “Goose” Bradshaw.
In addition, the movie also stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Ed Harris, and Charles Parnell among others.
Val Kilmer who played Iceman in the original might also reprise his character.
In addition to the Top Gun, A Quiet Place Part II has been scheduled for April 2021 release, more than a year delayed for March’20 release date. Also addition Jackass is now at least six months delayed to Sept. 3, 2021.
The Tiger’s Apprentice, previously set for Feb. 11, 2022 (wide), is now Feb. 10, 2023 (wide).
Paramount’s announcement follows that of Disney which announced that they have shifted their entire calendar. Mulan is now moving to a next year release while the entire Star Wars and Avatar pipeline is now delayed by a year.
