A 7.3-magnitude earthquake has rattled the Kurdish region between Iran and Iraq, killing at over 100 people. As the communications and electricity is disrupted, the actual casualty can be much higher.
The earthquake sparked panic, citizens stormed the streets all over the region. The shocks were felt as far as Qatar.
The worst hit was the town of Sarpol-e Zahab, about 15km (10 miles) from the Iran Iraq border. Iranian state TV also said Iraqi officials reported at least six people dead inside Iraq, along with more than 50 people injured in Sulaymaniyah province and about 150 in the city of Khanaquin.
