PM Modi to access the graded exit plan from the lockdown in the coming days, credits people of India for its fight against Covid19
In his monthly radio address to the nation, ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister of India – Narendra Modi today, i.e., Sunday, April 26, 2020 said that India’s war against Coronavirus (COVID-19) is people-driven.
Terming each Indian as a ‘fighter’ during India’s combat with the outbreak, Modi also praised the farmers for ensuring that no one is hungry. Thanking people for contributing to PM-CARES, a dedicated fund started by him with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation, Modi praised the people for rising to the occasion by helping each other.
Giving the reference of his previous requests to the nation of thanking the Corona Warriors such as doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, police, people in essential services, by clapping for them and by spreading good vibes through lighting ‘diyas’, torch or mobile lights, Modi said that these acts have kept the spirits high during this tough phase.
Taking it to twitter, Modi tweeted, “India’s fight against COVID-19 is people driven. Proud of our 130 crore citizens who have risen to the occasion and are doing whatever they can to free our nation from the Coronavirus menace. #MannKiBaat.”

Modi mentioned that he feels proud when world leaders tell him, ‘Thank you India, thank you people of India.’ The PM also said that people would require to wear masks for a longer time. It does not mean the person wearing a mask is unwell, it is just a wise precaution.
Talking about the importance of mask, he tweeted, “Now there is: Realisation on the need to wear masks, including homemade options. Awareness on the need to end spitting, especially in public places. #MannKiBaat”
He also said that during Ramzan, let us pray that by Eid-Ul-Fitr, the world is freed from this outbreak.
He tweeted, “Ramzan this year is taking place while we are in the midst of the battle against COVID-19. Let’s take the right precautions today so that the coming Id-Ul-Fitr can be marked in the same way as it has been done earlier. #MannKiBaat.”

During his address, he also hailed the mentioned that Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 which protects the medical practitioners against violence.

Besides, Modi will interact with the Chief Ministers of various States and Union territories (U.T.s) tomorrow, i.e., Monday, April 27, 2020, via video conferencing. There are speculations that Modi will discuss the graded exit from the lockdown. The lockdown has been imposed to curtail the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). This will be Modi’s 3rd interaction with State Heads.
Meanwhile, India recorded 1,975 fresh cases and 47 casualties in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra recorded 440 new cases in the last 24 hours. Mumbai alone accounts for 358 such cases. With this development, the total number of confirmed cases in the State is now 8,068. Out of these cases, 5,407 have been reported from Mumbai. In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra has also recorded 19 casualties. There were 12 casualties in Mumbai.
The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh – Shivraj Singh is in favour of extending the lockdown in Districts identified as hotspots. These include Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain and Khargone. In Delhi, 19 members of the nursing staff of Jagjeevan Ram Hospital tested positive for COVID-19.
India’s first COVID-19 patient treated with plasma infusion technology has recovered. A 49-year-old male recovered has been discharged from the Max Hospital at Saket in New Delhi.
As per the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, there are more than 26,917 cases in India and there have been 826 casualties.
