England is going to open-up more mass vaccination centres to immunize the vulnerable
The British Government is opening 7 new mass vaccination centres today, i.e., Monday, January 11, 2021 to intensify the mass vaccination programme as it looks to vaccinate all the vulnerable people by middle of February 2021.
These 7 new centres would open at Millennium Point in Birmingham, Etihad Tennis Centre in Manchester, ExCel Centre in London, Robertson House in Stevenage, Centre for Life in New Castle, Epsom Down Racecourse in Surrey and Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.
The new centres will each be capable of delivering thousands of vaccinations each week and will be followed by dozens more large-scale sites. There will be about 1,200 vaccination sites when more GP-led and hospital services open later this week, along with the first pharmacy-led pilot sites.
Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care – Matt Hancock tweeted,
We've now vaccinated a third of the over-80s in this country, so we're making significant progress, but more to do.

Presently, the United Kingdom (U.K.) is immunising 200,000 people every day. As of now, 1.3 million people have received their first dose of the 2-dose vaccination. In order to achieve its target, U.K. needs to inoculate 2 million people a week. This has to be achieved while combating the new strain of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The National Health Services (NHS), a publicly funded healthcare system in England which has been given the responsibility of vaccine roll-out, has expanded asymptomatic COVID-19 testing to every local authority. It has also said that workers who cannot work from home during this national lockdown should first be checked. The NHS has assured the people that plans are in place to ensure there is enough supply of COVID-19 vaccines throughout 2021.
The NHS tweeted,
The COVID-19 vaccination programme will continue to ramp up in the weeks and months ahead and will be extended to more and more people who will benefit. pic.twitter.com/LftFlIXaTi

Britain is also turning to 1,000 clinics, 223 hospitals, and 200 community pharmacies to deliver the vaccinations. The armed forces will also be deployed in the support of the National Health Service.
At the same time, NHS has informed the people of U.K. that COVID-19 vaccines will always be available for free and NHS will never ask anyone to share their bank details for identity verification.
NHS has asked the people to not to contact them seeking aa vaccine. They will contact the people of U.K. and when they contact the people, the people must honour their appointment.
