Mr. Minister, a little humility goes a long way.

This is our humble request to Union Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism Shri K.J. Alphons who has offered hospitality at ITDC Hotel The Ashoka to the Swiss Couple Ms. Marie Droze and Mr. Quentin Jeremy Clerc, who are recovering at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

Shri K.J. Alphons – best known for his statement last month that “that people who own bikes and cars are not starving and can afford to pay higher prices for fuel ” and before that to the foreign tourists that “eat beef in their own countries” before travelling to India, has done it again.

In his letter to the Swiss couple, the Minister said, “Trust you are recovering fast and would be on your way home soon. As a token of our concern, we would like to offer you a room at our luxury hotel, The Ashoka at Chankya Puri, New Delhi for two nights on the dates of your choice. All expenses at the hotel including food and beverages would be covered”.

The letter has no morsel of regret or sorry for the ordeal that the Swiss couple had to endure and that two room night offer at Ashoka can wash off the stained memories of two young Europeans who are going to carry a bitter memory of India for rest of their lives. When you met the couple Quentin Jeremy Clerc with a fractured skull and Marie Droz with a fractured hand, all your office had to tell the world that they were happy with the treatment they are getting!

Dear ministers they are guests of our country who came here on invitations extended by your ministry. Please climb down from your high pedestal and a include apologies and sorry in every communication to the guests as we all have failed as a nation. Please remember that your boss calls himself Pradhan Sewak.

The true light is that of knowledge and information. We are a group of informed citizens, some are journalists by profession, who are here to share our opinion and take of world.
