India shots down Pakistan’s F16

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has shot down Pakistan’s F16 aircraft which violated the Indian air space along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir today, i.e., February 27, 2019. The Pakistani fighter jet was destroyed

in retaliatory fire 3 kilometres within the Pakistan territory in Lam valley, in Nowshera sector.

 

The news agency ANI claimed that a parachute was seen as the aircraft was going down. The condition of the Pakistani pilot is unknown as of now.

 

Pakistan has said that it has shot down 2 Indian Air Force jets in a major escalation of the Kashmir conflict. However, IAF has denied the claims of Pakistan.

 

Pakistan’s Maj. General Asif Ghafoor tweeted, “In response to PAF strikes this morning as released by MoFA, IAF crossed LOC. PAF shot down two Indian aircrafts inside Pakistani airspace. One of the aircraft fell inside AJ&K while other fell inside IOK. One Indian pilot arrested by troops on ground while two in the area.”
