Central forces spook valley into panic

The deployment of additional 100 companies of paramilitary forces in Kashmir has caused wide spread panic among general population. There is now a general shortage of fuel, while government is burning midnight oil to ensure that shortage of essential commodities is avoided.

The home ministry in New Delhi, earlier clarified that the deployment is for upcoming general elections, however no one seems seems to be buying it on ground.

A retired government from the state pointed out that any such movement is done by election commission after declaring the election schedule. Since that has not happened and the fact that that leaves of medical staff is being cancelled all over the state doesn’t help.

On ground the speculation is rife that there can a mass crackdown not only against militants but against everyone.

Some sections also mentioned possibility of both an external conflict with Pakistan and an internal cleansing if the state.

Irrespective of the intentions of Centre, the move has made people of valley feel insecure than the government’s narrative would like us to believe.
